A New Chapter for Our Work in Braintree
After much thought, the Trustees of Hope House Essex have made the difficult decision to close the charity.
We are, however, pleased to share that our services in Braintree will continue under the management of CHESS Homeless, a trusted organisation with years of experience in supporting people facing homelessness and housing insecurity.
What This Means
✅ All current Hope House Essex services and accommodation will transfer to CHESS.
✅ Support for people in Braintree who are homeless or at risk will continue without interruption.
✅ The two Hope House properties will also move under CHESS management once the closure is finalised.

We are truly grateful for your generosity, encouragement, and partnership over the years. Because of your support, many local people have found safety, housing, and hope.
Although Hope House Essex will formally close, its mission and spirit will live on in Braintree through CHESS.
